Programs

Food Independence Gardens

A network of 49 raised garden beds specifically cultivated to grow fresh, organic produce.

All harvests are distributed through our sharing tables and donated to mutual aid organizations.

FIG empowers local residents to engage with urban gardening and ensures surplus produce directly supports food-insecure communities.

Peppers for the People

Tailored for apartment dwellers and those with limited space, this program offers 26 varieties of hot peppers and 3 sweet peppers in container-friendly formats.

Aims to foster food independence and provide culturally relevant produce to Tacoma’s diverse population.

Sharing Table

Located at Tacoma Urban Farm, our sharing tables distribute free, fresh produce to the community.

These tables symbolize mutual aid in action, breaking barriers to accessing healthy food.

Food Rescue

Partnering with Feeding Feasible Feast and other local nonprofits, we rescue surplus food from businesses and individuals.

Rescued food is redistributed to families and individuals facing food insecurity.

Education and Workshops

From vermicomposting to container gardening, our hands-on workshops equip the community with sustainable skills.

These events also deepen understanding of food systems and their environmental impact.

Urban Bounty Podcast

Hosted by David Thompson, the Tacoma Urban Farmer, Urban Bounty explores the transformative power of urban agriculture.

Featuring discussions on sustainability, food systems, and interviews with local food advocates, the podcast highlights our programs and offers practical tips for urban farming.
